Carpenter Wanted - Auckland

We, One Carpet & Flooring Limited, are looking to employ energetic and passionate Carpenters to works with construction crews to build, adjust and repair wood frameworks invarious construction projects in Auckland, New Zealand.

∙ Hourly rate: $29.66 – 35.00 depends on the experiences and level

Job description:

• Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared byotherconstruction professionals
• Determining materials, dimensions and installation procedures after discussingdrawings and specifications with Supervisor
• Cutting, shaping and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements
• Building window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using rawmaterials or pre-constructed items
• Laying out flooring , roofings or dry walls ensuring they are levelled and compatible
• Installing structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
• Inspecting and replacing damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
• Instructing and directing laborers and other construction helpers
• Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations

Job pre-requisites:

• Certificate in Carpentry Level 4 or above qualification, OR proven experience as carpenter at least 2 years is required
• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation andconstruction
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (poweredsaws, hammers, rulers etc.)
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Good understanding of basic math
• Good physical condition and endurance
• Successful completion of a carpentry related program is preferred
