Automotive Technician / Panel Beater

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Technician / Panel Beater to join our team in Albany, Auckland. This is a full-time position with guaranteed hours and competitive hourly pay.
The key tasks or a successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Job will include Prep work for painting, masking, removing & fitting of parts to help in both the Panel and Painting sides of the business.
- Strip vehicles, apply filler, file, grind and sand any surfaces to an as-new finish. Remove dents with appropriate hand tools. Use welding equipment to replace and join parts, and fit replacement panels as necessary.
- Removing dents using appropriate hand tools and equipment.
- Straightening bent frames and body panels, and fitting and welding replacement panels,
- Determine the paint colour required for each vehicle, and mix the paint.
- Deliver the mixed paint and labelled spray-out card to the Spray Painter.
- Maintain spray-out card library and the paint mixing room.
- Spray paint panels.
- A qualification in Automotive Engineering/Mechanics – Level 4 (NZ) or equivalent overseas qualification
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Solid understanding of automotive systems and components
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- You will work in the Albany area, north shore, Auckland
- Standard workdays: Monday to Friday
- Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week, up to 40 hours
- Pay range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
