Join the Ministry of Health's Pacific Expert Advisory GroupOn behalf of the Ministry of Health (the Ministry), the Director Pacific Health is seeking candidates who wish to be considered for appointment to the Ministry's Pacific Expert Advisory Group (the PEAG).
About the role- Kōrero mō te tūrangaThe PEAG (originally established in 2020 to guide the COVID-19 response for Pacific communities in New Zealand) will provide the Ministry with independent strategic expert advice and cultural guidance to shape policies and programmes that address the health needs and aspirations of Pacific peoples in New Zealand.We are seeking Pacific candidates with health expertise, lived experience, insight, and a commitment to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Pacific peoples.
- Kōrero mōuMembers of PEAG will participate in discussions, contribute expertise, advice, and support decision-making.
To ensure a diverse and representative group, we are seeking applications from people in the following areas:Pacific Clinicians and Allied Health workers: Including Pacific doctors, nurses, allied health professionals or specialists including policy, public health.
Pacific Community Representatives: Leaders actively engaged with Pacific communities and contributing to better health and social well-being.Academics and Researchers: With a background in Pacific health research, epidemiology, policy, and/or workforce development.
Youth and Emerging Leaders: To provide insights on the future health needs and priorities of Pacific young people and communities.The Ministry of Health appoints members to the PEAG, typically for a term of two years and members may be reappointed for a second term.

It is anticipated that PEAG members will meet quarterly.
PEAG members will be remunerated to recognize their time, expertise, and commitment to providing high-quality advice.How to apply
