Sales Assistant - Wyatt Machine Tools

Wyatt Machine Tools have been trading in NZ for over five decades, primarily in the panel and paint industry. The exclusive agents for Rupes power tools and Car-o-Liner chassis equipment we are known to hundreds of businesses across NZ in a range of industries.

We're currently on the lookout for a Sales Assistant to join our tight-knit Penrose-based team.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this is a varied and hands-on role involving customer service, sales support, and administrative coordination. You'll work closely with both our showroom and external sales teams to ensure our customers get top-notch service.

About you:

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who's eager to grow. Ideally, you'll be a go-getter with a background in retail or trade counter sales, comfortable engaging face-to-face with customers.

There's also a strong administrative and coordination aspect to the role - phone/email comms, logistics support, and sales admin are all part of the day-to-day.

For the right person, there's real potential for internal promotion down the line once you've built up product knowledge and sales experience.

• Retail or trade sales experience (essential)
• An automotive background - ideal, but not essential (we'll train you!)
• Strong communication skills - able to relate to customers from all walks of life
• A self-starting attitude and the ability to work independently
• Confidence to thrive in a male-dominated industry, with a willingness to learn and teach
• Bonus points for admin experience - repair coordination, logistics, pricing support

• Trade or hands-on experience in a mechanical, building, or automotive environment
• Familiarity with automotive tools, paint, welding, or mechanical systems
• Proficiency in Office, particularly Excel

This is a full time opportunity working Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. An immediate start is available.
