Directional Driller
Directional Drillers – Multiple Roles Available
Tradestaff are on the lookout for experienced Directional Drillers to join a range of civil crews across multiple sites. We’ve got solid work on the go, covering underground services like water, wastewater, power, and telecommunications. If you know your way around HDD gear and like working with a good crew, we want to hear from you.
This is hands-on work where you’ll be trusted to run drilling operations safely and to a high standard, while keeping things moving on site.
What you’ll be doing:Operating directional drilling equipment day-to-day, including set up, drilling, pullback, and reinstatement. You’ll be reading plans and bore profiles, locating existing services, and making sure everything lines up with spec. There’s also the usual gear checks, basic maintenance, and keeping accurate drilling logs and QA records.
You’ll be working closely with supervisors and crew on site, so being able to communicate and muck in matters.
What we’re looking for:You’ll have solid experience as a Directional Driller and a good understanding of underground services and how to avoid them. You’re comfortable working in live civil environments and understand how sites run. WTR endorsements are ideal, along with a Class 2 licence (Class 4 is a bonus).
Most importantly, you take health and safety seriously, work well with others, and don’t mind getting stuck in outdoors in all conditions.
You’ll also bring a good all-round understanding of civil works like trenching, excavation, and reinstatement, as the work can vary across different projects.
What’s on offer:Pay rates from $35 to $45 per hour depending on your experience, the job, and the site. Immediate starts available. We’ve got multiple clients and crews, so we’ll match you with a team and project that suits how you like to work.
