Policy Analyst - Family and Community Policyat Ministry of Health -
- What you'll do The Family and Community policy team works on a range of complex areas across the health system and wider social system.
High priority areas that the team is currently working on include: the health of older people and the aged care systemthe Government's response to the Royal Commission into abuse in care and faith-based institutionshow the health system responds to the needs of children and young people in care and youth justice settingshow the health system supports child protection, and issues related to family violence and sexual violence.
As a Policy Analyst, you'll be part of a team that delivers high-quality, evidence-based advice to improve health outcomes.This will include gathering and analysing information to inform policy analysis, developing and applying your analytical skills to understand policy issues, and developing policy documents including Aide Memoires and briefings that provide advice to senior managers and Ministers.
To do this you will need to build and leverage strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders within the Ministry and other agencies.Ko pūkenga
- What you'll bring For this role you will need to have: A tertiary qualification in a health, policy or a relevant field and/or equivalent experienceAn understanding of public policy, government processes, and structuresAn analytical mindset with the ability to ask probing questions to uncover underlying informationStrong relationship-building skills and experience working with stakeholdersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsApplicants with previous experience working in policy preferred.
