Quest New Plymouth is looking for a motivated and experienced housekeepers and Assistant Housekeeping supervisor to support our housekeeping team in delivering outstanding guest experiences. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help maintain our high standards of cleanliness and presentation while fostering a positive, supportive environment for our staff.
About the Role
Assistant Housekeeping supervisor
As Assistant Housekeeping supervisor, you will lead and support the housekeeping team, maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation, conduct quality inspections, and step in to provide leadership during the Housekeeping Manager’s absence.You will work closely with the Manager to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations
- Coordinate staff schedules and task allocation when needed
- Lead, coach, and motivate the housekeeping team
- Manage the department in the manager’s absence
- Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed
- Conduct room inspections and quality checks
- Identify opportunities for service improvements and operational efficiencies
- Maintain clean, welcoming, well-presented areas
- Support team in rooms and public areas
- Handle guest requests or issues related to housekeeping?
About You
You lead with energy, positivity, and a commitment to exceptional service. You will ideally have:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including coaching and conflict resolution.
- Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to lead by example and assist with operational tasks when needed.
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Hospitality qualifications or related training are an advantage.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role
As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest apartments and shared areas, ensuring every guest enjoys a high standard of comfort.This is a part-time role, with shifts on both weekdays and weekends. Weekend work is required.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and service guest apartments to a high standard
- Make beds, replace linen, and restock guest amenities
- Clean bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all public areas
- Keep the housekeeping trolley and storage areas organised and stocked
- Complete additional tasks as requested by supervisors or management
- Report maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards promptly
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures always
- Ensure work areas are tidy, organised, and ready for daily operations
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet operational standards
- Handle guest requests or issues related to housekeeping
About You
