Now, we’re looking for skilled and motivatedSolar Electricianstojoin our growing installation teams across New Zealand. We have locations in Northland, Auckland, Bay of Plenty, and the South Island.

About the Role

As a Solar Electrician, you’ll be a key part of our nationwide installation team, responsible for installing and servicing residential, commercial, and industrial grid-tied solar systems. You’ll work closely with the Hub Manager to ensure each project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

This role is hands-on, customer-facing, and essential to bringing clean energy solutions to homes and businesses across the country. There will be times where working away from home is require, we keep this to a minimum and rotate teams fairly.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Install wiring, switchgear, transformers, panels, and mounting systems for solar power solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
  • Connect and commission inverters, battery systems, charge controllers, and other energy-storage components.
  • Install and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems and related equipment.
  • Interpret electrical diagrams, technical documentation, and solar specifications.
  • Perform electrical safety testing and ensure all work meets NZ standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and replace components where needed.
  • Assist with warehouse duties including stocktaking, picking, loading/unloading kits.
  • Provide constructive feedback to Sales and Customer Service to improve customer experience and installation quality.
  • Demonstrate professional, friendly customer service and represent the Lightforce brand with pride.
  • Uphold Lightforce values, support teammates, and celebrate collective wins.
  • Meet performance targets and contribute to ongoing improvement of installation processes.
  • Follow all Health, Safety & Wellbeing policies and procedures.
What You’ll Bring
  • Full driver’s licence.
  • NZ Electrical Registration, or NZ Limited Certificate (EWRB) with commitment toward gaining full registration.
  • Current work visa (if applicable).
  • Strong technical ability and pride in high-quality work.
  • A customer-focused mindset and great communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to teamwork.
Experience in solar is an advantage — but not essential. We’ll support you to learn and grow in the industry.
