We’re looking for experienced Diesel Mechanics to join busy teams across Wellington. You’ll be working with a variety of diesel vehicles and machinery in a hands-on role that offers both variety and challenge. If you’ve got the skills and the right attitude, we want to hear from you.
About the role:You’ll be servicing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment across a range of industries. Key tasks may include:
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling engines and components
- Replacing worn or defective parts
- Performing scheduled servicing (oil changes, tune-ups, lubrication)
- Using diagnostic tools and computer systems
- Testing and adjusting components for peak performance
- Responding to breakdowns and callouts
- Inspecting vehicles and advising on roadworthiness
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience working on diesel engines
- Trade qualification (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Own tools and reliable transport
- Class 1 driver’s licence preferred
- Strong focus on health and safety
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Two recent work references
Benefits:
- Pay range: $30–$40/hr, based on experience
