We're hiring for two roles - both dedicated to raising awareness of gambling harm and uplifting whanau and hapori Maori.

Te Rangihaeata Oranga Trust (Gambling Recovery Service Hawke's Bay) is a kaupapa Maori organisation working to reduce gambling harm and enhance Maori wellbeing. Grounded in the values of rongomau, aroha, pono, tika and rangimarie, they deliver prevention and support services.
We have two Health Promotion roles available (Full or Part Time considered):
Community Connector: You'll be the heart of community engagement planning, attending and promoting events that strengthen awareness and connection kanohi ki te kanohi across Hawke's Bay. Key responsibilities:
- Design and lead engaging community events and hui
- Connect with marae, kura, whanau, local champions and providers
- Collaborate closely with the Communications/Resource Developer
- Report on outcomes with visuals and short write-ups
- Some travel to Wairoa (ideally quarterly)
Communications & Resource Developer You'll design, develop and translate health promotion messages into powerful resources that resonate with Maori communities across Te Ikaroa (Wellington, Palmerston North, Levin, Whanganui and Hawke's Bay). Key responsibilities:
- Create print, digital and social media content
- Lead seasonal and kaupapa-based campaigns
- Capture and curate visual content from community events
- Manage a shared library of kaupapa Maori materials
We're open to different backgrounds - whether you bring lived experience, grassroots involvement, or formal training in hauora Maori, health promotion, resource design, or community engagement, we want to hear from you.
You will be:
- You have strong connections to your iwi and marae, and bring cultural grounding to your mahi
- Experienced in social media, design, health messaging and / or events (role dependant)
- Organised and self-directed, with initiative and aroha
- Comfortable working in diverse and sometimes vulnerable communities
- Ideally hold a qualification or training in health promotion or Hauora Maori, or bring equivalent experience
- Grounded, flexible, and motivated by meaningful, community-centered work
- Full Drivers Licence
