- Health New Zealand Key Responsibilities:Transcribe medical documents accurately and efficiently.Manage patient bookings for outpatient clinic appointments and elective outpatient/inpatient admissions.Ensure patients have arrived and departed accurately within the patient management system.Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to meet Waitaha Canterbury and MoH guidelines for patient care timelines.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe Orthopaedic Outpatient Department, Burwood HealthCampus, is a busy department caring for patients with pre and post arrangedelective orthopaedic surgery.
About youEssential Skills and Experience:Excellent customer service skills with a people-focused approach.Technically savvy, with experience using data systems and the ability to quickly learn new applications and systems.Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple inputs to achieve agreed outputs.A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.Excellent keyboard skills, with a typing speed of 50'70 words per minute.High-level written and verbal communication skills.Proactive and perceptive approach in an administrative role.Desired Skills and Experience:Broad administrative experience in a health-related field.Cultural awareness and sensitivity towards people from diverse backgrounds.Knowledge of medical terminology.Familiarity with the public hospital system, including patient management systems.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
