We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead the financial management, planning, and commercial contracting functions within a values-driven organisation based in Auckland.

This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring financial sustainability, robust controls, accurate reporting, and effective contract management across the business.

About the Role:

You will also manage procurement and supplier contracts, ensuring value, compliance, and strong governance throughout the contract lifecycle.

This role is suited to a highly skilled financial professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands complex funding structures, and can confidently lead financial strategy and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all financial reporting, analysis, and end-of-year accounts preparation
  • Develop annual financial plans and budgets for senior leadership approval
  • Oversee expenditure, cashflow, treasury, payments, and receipting
  • Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and risk management
  • Prepare forecasts, business cases, and financial modelling
  • Maintain effective financial policies and procedures
  • Provide financial and commercial advice to managers
  • Manage procurement processes and negotiate supplier and service delivery contracts
  • Oversee contract amendments, renewals, pricing reviews, and performance issues
  • Prepare funding applications and accountability reports
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Support organisational health and safety practices
What We're Looking For:

  • Senior-level experience in financial management, ideally in health, community, or complex service-based environments
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, risk, compliance, and procurement
  • Experience managing commercial contracts and funding arrangements
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to advise senior management
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Understanding of culturally responsive service delivery (experience with Pacific communities is an advantage)
What's on Offer:
  • A senior leadership opportunity with significant influence over financial strategy
  • Supportive, purpose-driven workplace
  • Opportunity to lead meaningful commercial and financial outcomes
  • Competitive remuneration aligned with experience
