**He angitutanga / The opportunity:**
We are currently seeking enthusiastic **Casual Catering Assistants** to join our team at **Waitakere Hospital**. This is a flexible, casual role with hours rostered across seven days on an *as-and-when-required* basis to meet operational needs.
**Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:**
As a Catering Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality food services while providing excellent customer care to patients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering meals and beverages to patients in hospital wards
- Assisting patients with menu selection and meal service
- Tray assembly, tray line service, and meal delivery
- Basic food preparation and kitchen support
- Washing dishes and maintaining clean, tidy kitchen and dining areas
- Monitoring food temperatures and following food safety procedures
Previous experience in a healthcare or food service environment is desirable but not essential.
**He korero mou / About you:**- Be reliable, hardworking, and have a positive attitude
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be comfortable interacting with patients and hospital staff
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Have a caring, mature, and responsible approach
- Show a genuine interest in food service and quality
- Have basic food preparation or kitchen experience (preferred)
- Hold a Food Safety Certificate (Unit Standard 167) or be willing to obtain one
