Would you like a nursing role that gets you ‘out and about’ and deals with predominantly well people?

StaffCare is a private healthcare provider (nurse led) that delivers a diverse range of Occupational Health services throughout Te Tai Tokerau. We focus more on prevention and early detection of health problems and risks in the workplace through performing Annual Health Monitoring, Pre-Employment Medicals, Vaccinations, Biological Monitoring, and a raft of other services.

If you haven’t worked in the area of Occupational Health in the past, don’t worry – it utilises all your existing nursing skills and full training will be provided.

We have a vacancy for a nurse that lives in the Far North. If you live in or near Kaitaia and are interested in a flexible casual nursing role, then this could be for you.

We are looking for a nurse who:
  • Has a genuine interest in the health of Northlanders and a desire to assist our clients to maintain a strong, healthy, and safe workplace.
  • Is versatile, able to work independently as well as in a team, and is prepared to learn new processes and systems (with the help of our supportive admin staff and nurses).
  • Has a good level of physical fitness and health.
  • Is fun and has a good sense of humour.
To be considered for this role it is essential you:
  • Be a Registered Nurse with good clinical knowledge and skills
  • Have a current practicing certificate and are eligible to work in Aotearoa
  • Display excellent cultural competency
  • Be computer literate and can problem solve
  • Have excellent literacy and written communication skills including report writing and critique
  • A full, clean driver’s licence with a well-maintained vehicle (we provide reimbursement for work use)
  • Be a NZ resident

Preferably you will have (or be prepared to train towards): > Independent vaccinator status

>Phlebotomy

If you would like to know more about what we do, take a look at our website: https://www.staffcare.co.nz

This will be a great role for someone who would like a change and specialise in a slightly different area of healthcare. Maybe you are a bit over shift work or are just looking to work in a smaller friendlier supportive environment. Being based in the Far North, you will be working mostly independently although you will have the full support of the staff out of Whangarei.

We want someone who can have a laugh, crack a joke who can be a positive addition to our team.

This will be a role you can work around perhaps another job or busy lifestyle. We anticipate work will be on average 2 days a week (casual as needed). As our work is not acute medicine, we can often tailor your hours to suit your availability.
You might decide to do this in conjunction with another role or decide to do it just to keep your nursing skills up to date if taking a break from full-time nursing. StaffCare delivers services all over Northland, however most of our staff are based in Whangarei.
You will work predominantly in and around the Mid North. The majority of work will be performed at client’s sites so the ability to get out and about at varying locations will be important. You will develop relationships with companies as you give advice and draw on your NZ nursing experience.

Full training in Occupational Health and our systems will be provided for the right candidate.
