Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Construction

This well-established mid-size Tier 2 contractor is working across a number of industry sectors and is currently looking to recruit a quantity surveyor due to an increase in additional work being awarded. They have key clients across main works – retail, warehousing, new build apartments retirement villages, schools, sporting and recreation, office blocks, and interiors/refurbishments/heritage.
Staff welfare is a high priority and career growth is well managed through regular performance reviews with hands on involvement by Senior QS’s and the Commercial Manager.
They currently have a vacancy for a QS at the intermediate/senior level that will join a high performing team
Working within a team and reporting to a commercial director, you will be typically working on such tasks as:
- Scheduling/estimating
- Tender preparation and analysis
- Bills of quantities
- Cost management
- Progress claims and assessing variations
- Subcontractor management
Key success factors for this role require:
- A tertiary qualification in construction management or quantity surveying
- 5+ years experience worked as a hands on QS from a main contractor
- Knowledge of the local construction market and relevant commercial construction legislation and rates
- Confident in being able to independently commercially manage smaller projects
- A high performing working attitude
- High levels of accuracy and commercial acumen
- Outstanding written and oral communication
Remuneration: $120K - $135K
