Our Christchurch and Rangiora branches play a key role supporting Canterbury’s rural community, with a strong focus on farm water systems, irrigation, and pumping solutions.
We’re looking for a qualified Electrician or Electrical Service Technician (EST) to join our supportive team. If you don’t have direct experience in the irrigation or water industry, we’re open to training motivated candidates with the right skills and attitude.
This is a hands-on, rural-focused role that will suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, problem-solving, and providing practical solutions for farm customers.
About the role:
You’ll be responsible for electrical service, installation, and troubleshooting across a variety of farm water systems, with a particular focus on broad-acre irrigation equipment. Key aspects include:- Installation, service, and maintenance of pivot irrigators, pumps, control systems, and metering technology
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and control issues on-site
- Supporting both planned projects (new developments or off-season maintenance) and in-season breakdowns (typically September to April)
- Building strong relationships with rural clients and providing excellent customer service
- Assisting with quotes, job planning, and technical design support
- Recording accurate job information and reporting

What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Electrician or Electrical Service Technician (EST) license (essential)
- Hands-on problem solver who enjoys working outdoors
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working independently on farm sites, as well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn, industry experience is an advantage, but not essential
- Well organised, safety-conscious, and reliable
- Full NZ driver’s licence (essential)
- Work with a friendly, supportive local team in Christchurch or Rangiora
- Enjoy a role with variety, autonomy, and outdoor work across rural sites
- Full training and support provided, including irrigation, pumping, and control systems
