About the positions
We are looking for two experienced cooks for our busy Mediterranean Kebab Shops Waikato. Location can
be discussed as per candidate.
5 days per week – rotating roster, including weekends
Weekly hours: 32- 40 hours
Availability to work on weekends, early morning, evenings and on public holidays
This varied role will suit an experienced cook with an eye for detail and an ability to work in a
fast paced environment.
Job responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and serve quality food to customers
Assist in meal planning
Follow Manager or supervisor instructions and make meals per shop recipe or customers
requested
Place food on plates in a presentable manner
Ensure customer’s dietary requirements are met
Order or assisting with supplies and be in charge of stock management
Comply with New Zealand Food Safety Standards
Ability to manage and lead a kitchen team
Maintaining high standard of food hygiene, health and safety
Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
Train new kitchen staff if required
Maintaining and keeping kitchen equipments temperatures as required
Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine is advantageous
Food hygiene training is preferred
Understanding of food allergens
Knowledge of food hygiene and food storage
Knowledge of sanitation management
Understanding of health and safety procedures
The ideal candidate will need excellent verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, be a
team player, be reliable and punctual, and have second to none time management skills.
