This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, with additional earning potential through overtime and on-call work. The total remuneration range for this role is between $56,881 and $80,303 (including KiwiSaver), depending on skills and experience.

The opportunity

You will assist with the day-to-day operation of the drainage network, working across both wastewater and stormwater systems to:

  • Ensure a free-flowing wastewater and stormwater piped network
  • Minimise sewage overflow and pipeline infiltration
  • Install new connections, complete network repairs, and clear blockages
  • Inspect and carry out routine maintenance in problem areas across the drainage system
  • Construct and adjust manholes and pipelines

About you

You will ideally have experience undertaking basic repairs across drainage networks, along with:

  • Experience operating small plant and machinery
  • The ability to use technology (such as an iPad or tablet) to record information
  • A full, clean driver's licence (Class 2, W, T, F endorsements advantageous)
  • A strong understanding of, and commitment to, health and safety in the workplace
  • A reliable, hard-working attitude
  • The flexibility to work a roster that includes shift work and standby
