This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, with additional earning potential through overtime and on-call work. The total remuneration range for this role is between $56,881 and $80,303 (including KiwiSaver), depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
You will assist with the day-to-day operation of the drainage network, working across both wastewater and stormwater systems to:
- Ensure a free-flowing wastewater and stormwater piped network
- Minimise sewage overflow and pipeline infiltration
- Install new connections, complete network repairs, and clear blockages
- Inspect and carry out routine maintenance in problem areas across the drainage system
- Construct and adjust manholes and pipelines
- A career in the water industry, with ongoing training, development, and support to gain industry-recognised qualifications and certifications

About you
You will ideally have experience undertaking basic repairs across drainage networks, along with:
- Experience operating small plant and machinery
- The ability to use technology (such as an iPad or tablet) to record information
- A full, clean driver's licence (Class 2, W, T, F endorsements advantageous)
- A strong understanding of, and commitment to, health and safety in the workplace
- A reliable, hard-working attitude
- The flexibility to work a roster that includes shift work and standby
