We are looking for 3 seasonal workers to start in November, who can commit to a minimum of 3 months work on our Oyster Farms in Northland.
Whangaroa is located in the beautiful Bay of Islands and is a stunning place to live and explore. We are offering 3 go getters, who are hardworking, physically fit and keen to learn the chance to work in Northland, spending most of your day out on the Whangaroa Harbour carrying out remediation work on our oysters’ farms.
Our Opportunity:If you are looking for a fixed term, full time role over the summer that would allow you to work mainly outdoors, on the water, learning practical know how around oyster farming, this could be for you.
No day is the same. You might find yourself fixing damaged oysters’ baskets on the water or removing shell waste to reduce the risk of predation or fixing and assembling baskets on shore, or general labouring work.
As a team-based operations, you need to enjoy working with others, be able to take instructions and follow process, whilst supporting your colleagues and ensuring that every day you are keeping each other safe.Due to the nature of the business and changing tides and weather conditions you need to be adaptable and flexible when it comes to days and hours of work.
Training is provided.
What You Need:
These are great jobs if you want to learn about aquaculture while earning over the summer break from university, or you may be living in Northland or even on a working holiday – we are open to considering applicants who can commit to the fixed term assignment and are available to work through Christmas and New Year.
If you are reliable, hardworking, and physically fit, and like being on the water, learning new skills and working in a team we would like to hear from you.
Please note you must be:- eligible to work in NZ
- a reliable and efficient worker
- able to pass a pre-employment criminal, medical and drug and alcohol testing
- fit and healthy
- willing to commit to the duration of the fixed term assignment
