About the Role We are recruiting an Operations Manager responsible forOrthopaedics and General Surgery at Hutt Hospital. This includes emergencysurgeries, planned procedures and specialised clinics.The General Surgery service at Hutt Hospital treats a wide range ofconditions involving the abdomen, breast, neck, skin, and vascular system.The Orthopaedics department diagnoses and treats injuries or long-termconditions of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons,and peripheral nerves.The Operations Manager is theoperational driving force to manage the delivery of orthopaedic services andgeneral surgery services at Hutt Hospital.

The Operations Manager will develop,strengthen and enhance these services, alongside managing the day to dayoperational needs of the team. A key driver continues to be achieving equitablehealth outcomes.The Operations Manager will ensurethat organisational objectives are met and that resources are managedeffectively and efficiently to provide contracted services within budget,whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and Ministry of Healthrequirements, Government targets, organisation/service policies and qualityindicators.The salary band for this role is $140,000 - $150,000.

About the Team The Surgical Service Group is one ofsix within CCHV district provider services. Specialities within the Directorateare at secondary and tertiary level with service provision for the district,the central Region and wider Regions.

Surgical operating provision is largelyacross 3 hospitals (Wellington, Hutt, and Kenepuru) and a district outsourcingplan with private providers. Outpatient clinics are held at Wellington, HuttValley, Kenepuru, Paraparaumu, contracted at private provider sites, Marae andthrough hub and spoke arrangements at other regional hospitals.About youWe are seeking an innovative, energetic, and experienced Manager, who has proven transformational leadership skills and excellent knowledge of the health sector.

This middle management role partnersthe Clinical Leaders and Directorate of Nursing in the delivery of safeaffordable services. The Operations Manager:Influences, builds and refreshes systems,services or interventions that achieve the vision of the Group.Balances meeting day-to-day operationalchallenges while keeping sight of directorate objectives and implementingsystem and process changes to provide solutions.Translates strategy into operational plans that improve the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley Provider Services capability and increase capacity to deliver agreed services.Skills & ExperienceHealth professional qualification (essential)Experience working within an acute clinicalserviceProven track record in service development,delivery and improvementPrevious experience in a leadership/managementrole in the health sector Demonstrated commitment to professionaldevelopment of self and othersDemonstrated understanding of and sensitivityto cultural and ethical dimensions of practiceDemonstrated understanding and commitment toachievement of equitable health outcomesWorking at HealthNew Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is'the weaving of wellness'.
