Job Opportunity: Experienced Diesel Mechanic
The Workshop est.1924 – Truck Workshop
The Workshop 1924 is looking for a skilled heavy diesel mechanic to join our close-knit team.We specialize in servicing and maintaining a diverse range of clients’ fleets, keeping their trucks on the road and running at peak performance. We also service and maintain a range of smaller support vehicles and trailers.
Our heavy diesel and engineering workshop is based in Pukekohe. We support local business near and far, including Transport, Utilities vehicles, Rental/lease fleets, Trades, Horse trucks, Farm vehicles and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and other systems.
- Pre-COF inspections and repairs
- Scheduled Servicing
- Conduct preventative maintenance and thorough inspections.
- Troubleshoot issues efficiently to minimize downtime for our clients’ fleets.
- Help train the next generation of The Workshop’s diesel mechanics
- 5+ Years of proven experience as a qualified heavy diesel mechanic.
- Leading hand experience and job management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel systems and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license (Class 2-5 not required but preferred)
- EWP and Crane repair, service and safety inspection experience (not required but preferred)
- Forklift license (not required but preferred)
- Basic welding skills (Not required but preferred)
- Competitive wages ($35-$45per hour depending on experience)
