**The Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi**

Reporting to the Team Coach, our casual roles provide cover for permanent Support Workers - the hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available.

Based in Thames, our Housing and Recovery residential service operates 24/7, with staff covering a variety of shifts: 7:00am-3:30pm, 12:00pm-8:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, and 11:00pm-7:30am.

In this role, you will:

  • Support people connect back with their community
  • Support with cooking, cleaning, gardening and helping with everyday household tasks
  • Assist with budgeting and independent daily living
  • Provide medication support where required
  • Attend appointments and advocate for the people we support

**You | Mou**

You'll have:

  • A current full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Either the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us.
  • Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to be flexible and available for varying shifts.
  • Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
