**The Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi**
Reporting to the Team Coach, our casual roles provide cover for permanent Support Workers - the hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available.
Based in Thames, our Housing and Recovery residential service operates 24/7, with staff covering a variety of shifts: 7:00am-3:30pm, 12:00pm-8:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, and 11:00pm-7:30am.
In this role, you will:
- Support people connect back with their community
- Support with cooking, cleaning, gardening and helping with everyday household tasks
- Assist with budgeting and independent daily living
- Provide medication support where required
- Attend appointments and advocate for the people we support
**You | Mou**
You'll have:
- A current full New Zealand driver's licence.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- Either the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us.
- Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Ability to be flexible and available for varying shifts.
- Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
