Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic (General) / Automotive Light Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a range of light vehicles to a high professional standard.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles
- Conducting routine servicing and maintenance (oil changes, brakes, suspension, etc.)
- Repairing engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems
- Performing safety checks and inspections
- Using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment correctly
- Maintaining accurate job records and reporting any additional repair needs
- Ensuring all work is completed to safety and quality standards
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification in Automotive Engineering (or overseas equivalent),
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic/Automotive Technician
Additional requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Full driver’s licence preferred
- Competitive hourly rate: $28–$35 per hour (based on skills and experience)
