About the Role
Join a warm and supportive team where your work will genuinely make a difference each day. In this role, you’ll support a group of six women aged in their 40s to 50s with their daily lives, helping them build independence, confidence, and wellbeing.Support includes home management and meal preparation, shopping and meal planning, and motivating participation in exercise and community activities, while role-modelling good self-care, hygiene, and healthy routines. Three of the women have cats, so being comfortable around pets is important.
Term: Fixed-term until 16 August 2026
About You
This role suits a Support Worker who brings patience, empathy, consistency, and a calm, grounded approach—particularly when supporting people who may at times display challenging behaviours. You’re cheerful and resilient, confident in setting boundaries and solving problems, and communicate clearly with strong spoken English.You’re physically active, comfortable around water and swimming, able to role-model healthy lifestyles, and understand the importance of “doing with” rather than “doing for.” Alignment with our values and a good sense of humour are essential to success in this role.
You’ll be available to work a rostered schedule, including weekends, and meet the following essential requirements:
Essential Requirements- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence
- Willingness to undergo Police and Oranga Tamariki vetting
- Experience supporting people with complex or challenging needs
- Experience supporting people with Autism
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be supporting academic tasks, reading, and written assignments
