Weld and fabricate high-quality agri equipment

• Read drawings and operate fabrication machinery
• Full-time role with strong team and early finish Fridays

Hours: Guaranteed 30 hours per week, 6:00am - 5:00pm

Our client is a respected New Zealand manufacturer specialising in the design and production of agricultural equipment. Renowned for quality craftsmanship and a strong safety culture, they operate with a collaborative, close-knit team and are seeking a skilled Welder to support their growing production demands in Timaru.

As a Welder, your main responsibilities will include welding, fabricating, and preparing farming equipment and attachments. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Fabricate, position, and align components using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment to assemble structural and mechanical parts
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to complete precise fabrication work
• Perform quality checks and inspect materials and welds for defects or non-conformance
• Use pre-fabrication machinery such as manual lathes, band saws, and drills
• Maintain health and safety standards in compliance with workshop procedures

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in welding and metal fabrication
• Experience using MIG welding techniques and reading technical drawings
• Ability to operate fabrication tools including lathes and drills
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual work in a workshop setting
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Forklift licence preferred NZQA Level 3 Certificate in Engineering Fabrication would be an advantageous
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must have a clean police report with no charges pending
