About the Role
Vulcan is seeking a Laser/Plasma Machine Operator to join our Plate Processing site in Auckland, working a permanent weekend shift (Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 12 hours each, paid for 40 hours).
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating CNC laser/plasma cutting machines
- Using overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment
- Loading/unloading steel plates and finished parts
- Monitoring cut quality and carrying out quality checks
- Labelling and processing cut parts
- Assisting with routine machine maintenance
- Keeping machines running efficiently with minimal downtime
- Working safely, independently, and as part of a night shift team
- CNC, plasma, laser, or machine operating experience
- Overhead crane and/or forklift experience preferred (training available)
- Full driver licence (F‑endorsement an advantage)
- Strong health & safety focus
- Good attention to detail and work ethic
- Able to work unsupervised
- Physically fit and reliable
