**Te** **kowhiringa | The Opportunity**
The Paving Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring that all plant is presented, serviced, maintained and operated in a professional, safe and efficient manner that complies with all relevant legislation, regulation and policy and achieves agreed productivity and quality targets.
The Paving Plant Operator will spread and level hot bituminous paving materials and lay concrete on areas such as highways, roads and car parks.
Availability: Please note that most of our work is night shift, between Sunday and Thursday night and that the teams traveling within the Waikato between sites.
Activities will include:
**Operating Plant and Equipment:** Ensure pre-start checks and daily moisture contents are carried out. Check the plant, equipment and environs for hazards and manage same to maintain a safe workplace. Ensure plant and equipment is started, operated correctly, safely and all accuracies are maintained.
**Reporting:** Correct and timely completion of paperwork including timesheets, log books, accident/ incident sheets. Paperwork is kept in good order.
**Teamwork:** Assists other team members and other crews when required.
**Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills**
**You must have:**- NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience can replace the formal qualification
- Appropriate Driver's License/s
You will ideally have:
- Proven ability and competence in the proper care, maintenance and operation of appropriate plant and equipment
- Numerical skills and legible handwriting
