Experienced Civil Operator – North Christchurch

We’re looking for an experienced and confident Civil Operator to join a busy crew working on a range of infrastructure projects in North Christchurch. If you’ve got solid machine operating skills and a strong work ethic, we want to hear from you.

Pay rate: $30–35 per hour

What you’ll be doing:

• Operate a range of civil plant and machinery including excavators, loaders, rollers, vibratory hammers, pumps, and trucks
• Carry out trenching, drainage, dewatering, and large pipeline installation
• Assist with ground prep, backfilling, and compaction work
• Maintain equipment and complete pre-start checks to ensure site efficiency
• Follow site plans and collaborate with supervisors to meet project goals
• Help maintain a safe and productive worksite

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven machine operating experience (excavators, loaders, rollers)
• Minimum Class 2 licence (Class 4/5 and tipper truck experience a strong advantage)
• Hands-on drainage and dewatering experience, including trenching and pipe laying
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Availability for an immediate start

• Pay from $30–$35 per hour
• Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 7am–5pm
• Ongoing work available for the right candidate
• Work on a variety of projects using modern machinery
• Full PPE provided by the Tradestaff team
