About the RoleIf you have an interest in working in ED, we have a great opportunity for you.You can join our dedicated team of health care professionals in a fast paced and supportive environment as a Health Care Assistant.As a Health Care Assistant you will play a key role in delivering quality patient care for our patients and whanau.
A typical day as a Health Care Assistant can include:Assisting with basic patient careRestocking of suppliesMaintaining a clean and safe environmentOther such duties that will assist with the smoth running of the department The successful candidate will be provided with a comprehensive orientation programme and supportive staff development opportunities.

About the ServiceThe Waikato ED is the major regional referral and trauma centre for the Midland region. We see approximately 85,000 patients per year with a broad case mix of presentations from paediatrics to geriatrics, medicine to trauma – there is no aspect of emergency medical care we do not provide.
About youThe successful applicant will need:excellent communication and time management skills.enjoy working in a team environment.have a positive attitude which will reflect positive patient care.competency in adapting to changing environmentssensitive to the needs of the people around you.Current experience working in a NZ health care, emergency / critical care department is essential.
