Heavy Diesel Mechanic
East Coast Heavy Diesel and Machinery provide support for all Commercial Transport Vehicles and Trailers. We are partnered with a large range of well known brands, such as Scania, Iveco, Fuso, etc.
We are a family owned business, with family values at our core. We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic; that has vast knowledge of the transport repair world for our team in Whakatane.You would be working in our modern fit for purpose facilities that helps make work more enjoyable and efficient.
To be successful in this role you would need the following attributes.- Have at least 3 years experience in the diesel repair and maintenance field and have the willingness to learn as we grow with our Partners.
- Ability to think outside the box and be able to solve problems
- Have a good understanding of repair and maintenance of a diverse range of vehicles, plant and equipment
- Be available for after-hours call out duty, to work across multiple depots/sites but also perform both workshop and field duties
- Have a good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels and be a team player
- Hold a full Class 1 Driver’s License (Additional classes will be an advantage, although these can be obtained during employment.
- Take pride in your workmanship and getting it right the first time
- Come with enthusiastic, positive and motivated work ethic and nature

- You will need to have a good level of fitness to meet the demands of the role

The hours of work are a minimum of 40 hours a week and you may be required to work on multiple sites, in the workshop and in the field. This may require after-hour call out if required. Overtime rates do apply when certain criteria are met.
