About the role | Mō te tūnga:This is a senior role at the heart of how MSD manages technology risk.You'll be the one connecting the dots and helping to identify risks, shaping mitigation strategies, and ensuring leadership make well- informed decisions before risks become issues or incidents.
It's practical, strategic work that makes a real difference.This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington.
Key responsibilities include:Lead structured risk assessments across MSD's technology environmentDevelop and maintain clear frameworks and reporting for technology riskProvide expert advice to senior leaders on risk, controls, and assuranceWork closely with security, operations, and strategy teams to build a coordinated risk pictureHelp embed good risk practice into everyday decision-makingWe're committed to creating a workplace that reflects the communities we serve.

What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga:We're looking for someone who:Has significant experience (ideally 7+ years) in technology, with at least 5 years in risk management, assurance, or security rolesHas hands-on experience with risk assessment frameworks and mitigation strategiesCan translate risk language into something decision-makers understandHave proven experience building trust with technical and non-technical audiences alikeUnderstands that good risk management isn't about saying no, it's about finding the right path forwardPublic sector or regulated industry experience is useful, but not essential Position Description | He Whakaahuatanga Tūnga:A copy of the postion description can be found here.
