Steel Fixers | Dunedin | 6 Month FTC
Our client is seeking skilled Steel Fixers to join their crew on a large commercial project in Dunedin. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established company that specialises in delivering high-quality reinforcement solutions across New Zealand.
As a Steel Fixer, you will play an essential role in preparing, positioning, and securing steel reinforcement to ensure the successful delivery of this significant project. You’ll be working as part of a professional team, with strong systems and safety practices in place, and the possibility of extending your contract beyond the initial six months.
What’s on offer:
- $29–$35 per hour, paid weekly
- 6-month fixed term contract with the likelihood of extension
- November start, offering immediate security heading into summer

Key responsibilities:
- Cutting, bending, and tying rebar to specifications
- Reading and interpreting steel fixing drawings and plans
- Ensuring correct placement and securing of reinforcement for concrete structures
- Working collaboratively with site supervisors and other trades
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality at all times
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a steel fixer in commercial construction
- Ability to work confidently from technical drawings and plans
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- A reliable and hardworking attitude, with the ability to work as part of a team
- Health & safety focused, with the physical fitness required for the role
