We are looking for permanent, full-time Support Workers to help in our Intensive Support Services in Kapiti.

What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko?

Our Support Workers assist rangatahi and tamariki who access our services to live as independently as possible, in their community. Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 cover with responsibilities including aiding with personal care, community outings, integration, and other aspects of daily living - enabling people we support to be as independent as possible

Who are we looking for? - Ko wai ta tatou e rapu ana?
  • A desire to support our rangatahi and tamariki to learn new skills and achieve outcomes
  • Prior experience supporting others with aspects of daily living, preferably those living with intellectual or physical disabilities.
  • Ideally experience working with children or youth
  • Full driver's licence and confidence to safely transport passengers in our disability vans (training provided)
  • Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends

Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
