Apprentice - Civil Construction

Seipp Construction is looking for an Apprentice to join our Christchurch-based civil construction team.**

This is a great opportunity for someone local who wants to learn civil construction skills through hands-on experience across drainage and civil projects.

**Start date:** Late February / early March 2026 (or by agreement).

**What you’ll be doing:**

You’ll work alongside Foremen, Leading Hands, and Engineers, learning the fundamentals of civil construction, including:

1. General labouring and site support
2. Assisting with drainage and civil works
3. Helping maintain pumps, generators, and equipment
4. Supporting safe work practices and site operations
5. Learning how jobs are planned and delivered on site

You’ll gain exposure to a variety of tasks while building core skills.

1. Interest in a career in civil construction
2. NCEA Level 2 in Maths and English (or working toward it)
3. Restricted or Full NZ Driver Licence
4. Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
5. Positive attitude and strong safety focus
6. No prior experience required - just the right mindset

1. Full-time apprenticeship based in Christchurch
2. Hands-on learning across drainage and civil projects
3. Support to complete the New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works
4. PPE and safety gear provided
5. Opportunity to grow into long-term roles within Seipp
