Taranaki Eye Centre

Permanent, Negotiable Hours

Rare opportunity to join a thriving Ophthalmology practice in an internationally awarded region for Most Liveable City (New Plymouth, Taranaki). We offer work/life balance and immediate clinical and surgical opportunities in both the public and private sector.
New Plymouth is a sustainable lifestyle capital with world class beaches for swimming and surfing, skiing and hiking on the local mountain (Mt Taranaki) and mountain biking through the parks and forests, with many more activities in between.

For a more relaxing experience, there are many walks (forests, coastal or mountain) as well as art trails, festivals and award-winning museums and galleries and a thriving café culture. Click here to read more information about the Taranaki region.

The Taranaki Eye Centre www.taranakieye.co.nz is a privately owned Ophthalmology clinic which delivers both public and private health services to the region using the most up-to-date equipment and technology. Our fantastic clinical team consists of three New Zealand trained Consultant Ophthalmologists, two Registrars, a Clinical Ophthalmic Nurse and an Orthoptist who all work closely together.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, vocationally registered Ophthalmologist (FRANZCO, American board of Ophthalmology, FRCSC, FRCOphth) to work in a comprehensive Ophthalmology role. We would be happy to consider candidates that are currently in training posts and seeking employment within twelve months.

The job size is flexible from 0.5 -1.0 FTE, along with participating in an on-call roster. This role has opportunities for both public and private work, and will include weekly outpatient clinics, operating sessions, and reviewing inpatients.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr Albie Covello by e-mail: info@taranakieye.co.nz
