About Us

Habitat for Humanity (Northern Region - Auckland and Northland) is the largest of Habitat for Humanity International’s Affiliates operating in New Zealand. Habitat delivers a range of housing related services that include the development of new supply affordable housing, management of leased housing, home repair services, healthy home related government service contracts and eight charity ReStores in Auckland and Northland.

Our ReStore Charity Shops in Auckland and Northland regions provide much needed funds for our mission with help from our team of dedicated volunteers and wonderful staff.

The Role

ReStore Manager - Kumeu

Habitat for Humanity Charity - Northern Region

Hours: 40 hours per week including one weekend day

This is a busy, hands-on role shaping the store environment to developing a strong team of staff and volunteers. As the manager you will be responsible for all aspects of operations with your team from receiving donations, merchandising, pricing, sales, customer service, administration and achieving budget.

This is an incredibly rewarding retail management position for someone who is passionate about preloved quality items and have a genuine desire to work in the charity sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieving the financial objectives of the ReStore eg sales targets & budgets
  • Identify sales opportunities and achieve sales targets with the team
  • ReStore administration tasks eg banking, rostering, till reconciliation, emails, reporting, timesheet approval
  • To ensure stock is prepared for sale, e.g. electrical items are tested and all items are clean
  • To manage the merchandising of goods on the shop floor to maximize sales
  • Maintains the ReStore staff and volunteer job outcomes by coaching, counselling and disciplining when necessary
  • Responds positively and in a timely manner to customer complaints and enquiries
  • Champion consistent excellent customer service
  • Ensure that all procedures and protocol are followed
  • Uphold and role model the values of Habitat for Humanity Northern Region

Ideal Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

  • 2 years management experience
  • Strong communicator and relationship manager
  • Champions excellent customer service
  • Strong leadership
  • Able to motivate staff and volunteers
  • Be adaptable and well organised
  • Must be able to safely perform physical tasks, including lifting, moving, carrying stock and merchandise
  • Able to multi-task

  • Computer literate
