About the Role
Are you a health care assistant looking for a challenge? Do you work well as part of a team and are able to use your prioritisation skills and initiative?
In this role you will work within the cardiac cath lab providing support and assistance to the multi-disciplinary team caring for patients undergoing a variety of cardiac procedures. The successful applicant will be flexible, with good prioritisation and time management skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide patient care, support patient flow and assist with tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse.
- Support the nursing team to deliver a clean, safe, organised and tidy environment for patients and staff.
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery Collective Agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), professional development and wellness support.

About the Team
Waikato hospital is a tertiary referral centre for the Waikato district, with our multidisciplinary team providing a wide range of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. Alongside four labs, we have a 14 bed unit that provides pre and post procedure care to our patients from the hours of 0700 to 2030 hours - Monday to Sunday.
About you- Previous experience within a healthcare setting
- Previous experience working in an acute setting within a New Zealand hospital is desirable.
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible and adaptable.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a solution focused attitude.
- Demonstrates prioritisation and problem solving skills.
