With ACC you'll be supporting people in Aotearoa to stay safe by minimising the incidence and impact of injury, as well as helping them recover from injury if an accident does happen. The Actuarial team delivers a comprehensive range of core actuarial services to ACC and external stakeholders. There is a variety of other work including assessments of the effectiveness of injury prevention programmes, input to policy and other scheme design questions, input to wider ACC strategy, and involvement in project work.
You'll be accountable for helping the team deliver great insight and advice to enable sound management of the Scheme. And you'll work with a wide range of stakeholders within, and sometimes outside the organisation. ACC provides a comprehensive study support package to help you start or continue your journey through the actuarial qualification.
This includes paid leave to undertake study throughout the year, and financial support for study and exam materials. Depending on skills and experience, the successful candidate will be offered either an Analyst 1 role, or Analyst 2 role; the base salary range for an Analyst 1 starts at $67,442 and the base salary range for an Analyst 2 starts at $77,502.
ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary. This is a permanent position, based in Wellington. About you | Ko wai koe You'll be enthusiastic and committed to delivering quality services, both from a technical and a customer perspective.
You'll also: Either have, or be close to completing, a tertiary qualification in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or finance; or have up to four years' experience working in an actuarial role.Have exceptional analytical skills including the ability to work with advanced mathematical and statistical models and be easily able to navigate computer programming languages.Have excellent relationship management skills and the ability to build rapport with your key stakeholders.Be an excellent communicator, focused on providing actionable advice for your stakeholders.Be continually looking for ways to innovate and improve processes and techniques to achieve quality results.Thrive on variety and challenge and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.Work well in a team environment, contributing to team engagement and team deliverables.Understand the ACC Scheme and the nature of support it provides injured people in New Zealand.You are or will become an active member in the NZ Society of Actuaries, studying towards your actuarial qualification.
For graduates or near-graduates, actual or potential exemptions from actuarial exams would be an advantage but are not a pre-requisite.
