Bay Sandblasting Services Limited is part of the PropellWorks Group and is a well-established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work. We are a team of 12 dedicated professionals working on a diverse range of small to medium-sized industrial projects, and we're currently seeking a Paint Workshop Supervisor to join our growing team.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated, physically fit, and experienced individual who is a true team player. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial painting and coatings and will be confident leading a small team.

Hourly wage range of $43 p/hr-$48 p/hr depending on qualifications/skills/experience

This is a permanent full-time role of 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a team of industrial painters and prep workers
  • Prepare and apply industrial coatings and paints, including epoxy systems
  • Operate and maintain paint booth machinery and associated equipment
  • Use Positectors, wet film gauges, and other quality assurance tools to ensure standards are met
  • Assist in job costings and reviews
  • Assist in upgrading/developing QA processes and systems
  • Complete and maintain QA records accurately and promptly
  • Communicate with onsite representatives to ensure projects are completed to client and company standards
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies
  • Ensure application of protective coatings aligns with industry best practices and specifications
Skills & Experience Required
  • Hold a NACE CIP Level 2 Certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in:
Steel preparation (both machinery and manual methods)
Application of epoxy coatings and industrial paints
Supervising small teams in a workshop environment
  • Strong understanding of protective coating systems and surface preparation
  • Experience using quality assurance tools such as wet film gauges and Positectors
  • Ability to work independently to a high standard
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
