Fixed Term - Paving Foreman Opportunity in Nelson – Drive Excellence in Civil Construction

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Paving Foreman to lead our paving crews in Nelson on a fixed-term (18 months) basis. Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of paving teams on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to high-quality and safety standards.
- Interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings to execute work efficiently and accurately.
- Manage materials, equipment, and resources required for each job, ordering and organising as necessary.
- Foster a positive team culture, providing leadership, training, and support for crew members of all backgrounds and experience levels.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated experience supervising paving, road construction within civil infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of asphalt and concrete paving procedures, including safe and efficient use of plant, equipment, and hand tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to safety and quality.
- Competency in reading site plans and using modern construction technology.
- A full New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 1) is required; Class 2 and WTR endorsements are essential.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
- Fixed Term (18 months), full-time role with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week.
