We are seeking a Restaurant Manager / 2iC to:

  • Oversee day-to-day operational management of the restaurant, including bookings, restaurant set-up and close, customer flow, and effective daily communication with kitchen staff;
  • Manage recruiting, training and day-to-day oversight and motivation of staff with administrative assistance provided by our Head Office team;
  • Manage wage-cost control;
  • Manage and purchase restaurant supplies;
  • Undertake beverage purchasing and stock control, with assistance from the Bar Manager;
  • Provide input into the weekly rosters, with the General Manager;
  • Manage the operation of the tills, undertaking daily cash-ups, and resolving issues;
  • Delegate operating duties and ensuring they are completed;
  • Ensure that the Warring Group’s company policies are adhered to;
  • Ensure daily communication on operational issues with the General Manager and the office team;
  • Instil a team environment which results in staff retention;
  • Organise general repair and maintenance
The position is well remunerated, at between $30 and $35 per hour, and involves working at least 35 hours per week. You will also benefit from a group-wide food discount and a tab allowance. The nature of our business means that the job does involve regular late nights.

Also, from time-to-time, depending on business requirements, you may be asked to work within another of the Warring Group Limited’s Christchurch locations.

The role requires:

  • Someone of at least 20 years of age further to the requirements of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012;
  • At least three years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification, including at least one year of Duty Manager’s experience;
  • A Duty Manager’s certificate or a willingness to go through to process to obtain one;
  • Excellent personal presentation;
  • Willingness to work and lead from the front within the business;
  • A passion for customer service;
  • A desire to be part of an industry leading restaurant group;
  • A friendly, positive, and warm persona that contributes positively to guest experiences;
  • A willingness to learn, adapt and grow;
  • Excellent communication skills; and
  • A trustworthy nature and background;
