Skilled CIVIL MACHINE OPERATOR – GPS SPECIALIST - Rotorua | Opotiki | Taupo | Ongoing Projects Across the Region Are you an experienced Civil Machine Operator with advanced GPS capability?

This is your opportunity to join a reputable organisation working on a diverse range of civil, infrastructure, and earthmoving projects across Rotorua, Opotiki, and Taupo. About the Role You will operate a range of modern machinery across multiple civil construction and earthworks sites. Your expertise in GPS-guided systems will ensure precision excavation, shaping, trenching, and bulk earthmoving tasks are completed to a high standard.
This role will see you working independently and as part of a skilled team delivering high-quality outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
Machinery You Will Operate We run a modern, well-maintained fleet, all equipped with industry-leading GPS technology:GPS-Enabled Fleet:
- GPS Bulldozers
- GPS Excavators (14-ton to 30-ton)
- GPS Tractors and Scrapers
Technology & Systems:
- All machinery operates with TOPCON and Uni Control GPS systems
- Operators are encouraged to grow their GPS skillset with ongoing support
What We’re Looking For We want reliable, confident, and skilled operators who can hit the ground running:
- Extensive experience operating civil machinery
- Strong competence using GPS systems (TOPCON or Uni Control preferred)
- Ability to read plans, understand levels, and work to precise tolerances
- Experience in bulk earthworks, final trim, trenching, or site development
- Solid understanding of civil construction safety and workplace practices
- Positive attitude, team focus, and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work across sites in Rotorua, Opotiki, and Taupo
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Must have reliable transport
