  • Whole of Life Vaccinator.

This role is a fixed-term position with a primary focus on childhood immunisation.

The Fixed-Term period is 12-months from date of commencement in the role and will require you to work across 7 days a week.In this role you will support the Te Manawa Taki regional immunisation plan.
Immunisation is promoted as a primary strategy for the prevention of communicable disease.
You will work collaboratively with AIR administration and other team members, deliver immunisation activity and ensure that vaccines are administered in accordance with local policy and procedures including the maintenance of cold chain.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe public health nursing team is part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand
  • Te Whatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

About youYou understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role.
You're able to facilitate informed consent supported with immunisation expertise.

You're able to provide evidence-based education to whānau, education centres, community providers and all stakeholders to promote vaccination.You build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and model an agile approach, you learn quickly, adapt fast.

You can utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to top of scope.Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as Registered Nurse and hold a current Annual Practising CertificateCurrent Authorised VaccinatorFull, New Zealand drivers' licenceHold a competent portfolio in an approved PDRP or equivalent with a commitment to continue through the programmeDemonstrated competence in application of Māori health models to Nursing practice with child and whānau health related experienceDemonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environmentProven experience and competence using Patient Management SystemsWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
