We are a busy take away in Flat Bush and looking for Cooks to join the team.
Benefits- Wages - $25-$30/hour
- Working Hours - Min 30 hrs/week
- Level 4- Trade Certificate or Diploma is required.
- OR 2 year experience in commercial kitchens is required.
- 3 year experience will be preferred.
Job Duties
preparing and cooking food
seasoning food during cooking
portioning food and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
storing food in temperature controlled facilities
preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
may plan menus and estimate food requirements
may train other kitchen staff and apprentices
examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
check the food quality and maintain it at all times
cook Indian curries and tandoori dishes
storing/Labelling food in Fridges/Chillers
ordering required kitchen materials and keeping records
estimating food requirements on weekly basis
Investigate customer complaints regarding food and discussing it with chef and manager
ensure the kitchen waste is kept minimum
ensuring the workstations and kitchen equipment clean, organised and sanitised
ensuring personal hygiene at all times
maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
