Administration Support Officer - Rimutaka Prison
Fixed-term role until 30 June 2026
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours
- Based at Rimutaka Prison
We are looking for a fixed term, full-time Administration Support Officer - Stores, to join the Administration team at Rimutaka Prison in Upper Hutt.
Mo te tunga | About the role
The Store is responsible for receiving inwards goods for distribution to the Rimutaka site in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring that deliveries are timely in accordance with prison rules, routines and procedures.
This role also manages the returned custodial uniforms for reissue or disposal as well as the PPE stock for the Lower North Region.
You will enjoy working collaboratively as one team in a challenging and fast paced environment, able to follow and adhere to policies and procedures, and have sound judgement in prioritising tasks and activities to meet deadlines.
Please note, the attached job description (JD) for this position has the general working title `Administration Support Officer'. This JD covers a variety of administrative positions within the Department of Corrections. This role specifically is for the Stores area.

We are looking for a person who can demonstrate the following qualities and skills:
- Physically fit as you will be required to lift and deliver heavy goods
- Administrative experience
- Effective communicator
- Excellent time management skills and a multi-tasker
- Good attention to detail
- Computer literate including experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, SRM
- Willingness to undertake and complete appropriate training as directed
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Able to work in a team environment as well as autonomously
You will need a full New Zealand driver licence for this role.

Nga painga | The benefits
The full salary range for this role (85%-120%) is $64,717 - $68,434 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
