About the RoleThis role is essential in creating partnerships with Māori across all levels including tāngata whaiora, whānau, Māori staff and the Kaitakawaenga team, and supporting our non- Māori staff to work together in reducing inequity.The Charge Nurse Manager is a key senior role within the team responsible for providing leadership and support to staff, tāngata whaiora and whānau, working in close collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities of the role:Build and maintain a high performing team that upholds the culture, values, mission and vision of the service.Lead and manage people, systems, processes and resources in an acute mental health ward.Engage and work collaboratively with all stakeholders, particularly tāngata whaiora and whānau.Manage ward quality and risk programmes.Support the pursuit of Māori health gains as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori.Click here to view the position description. About the TeamWard 34 is a 20 bedded unit within the Henry Rongomau Bennett centre that provides 24 hour care to tāngata whaiora experiencing acute mental illness. It’s the perfect time to join our team.

About youCompetency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.A Registered Nurse with 4 years or more of demonstrated clinical experience in an acute mental health setting.Experience in a leadership role.
