This role sits in an innovative, compassionate team who provide integrated psychological and social services to cancer patients and their whānau.

You will also be part of a wider Adult and Women’s Health social work service.For more information on living and working in Auckland click hereAbout youTo be successful for this role, you will be a compassionate Social Worker with several years of clinical experience and a proven ability to apply best-practice skills that address the needs of people experiencing cancer.

Rigorous psycho-social assessment skills, the ability to think critically and develop patient centred interventions and strong advocacy skills are central to this role. It is expected that the person appointed will contribute to projects aimed at improving holistic care and improve equitable outcomes of people and whānau experiencing cancer.You will possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage with patients and whānau in a warm, empathetic, and professional manner.

Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, managing multiple tasks effectively, while demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement is essential.You will hold a recognised social work qualification with full registration with the New Zealand Social Workers’ Registration Board and a current Annual Practising Certificate.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
