Factory Maintenance Engineer
Starwood Ltd manufactures wooden eating articles for the food industry and has done so since 1946. Over the years, we’ve evolved into a world leader in our field, supplying high-quality wooden products to food manufacturers around the world.
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer / Engineering All-Rounder to take responsibility for the upkeep and reliability of our production machinery.
The Role
This is a sole-charge position, with backup and support from the owner. You’ll work closely with our manufacturing team to ensure machines are operating safely, efficiently, and at capacity.
Key responsibilities include:- Daily and weekly maintenance of production machinery
- Sharpening and setting of mini-gang and moulding machines
- Replacement of bearings and general mechanical repairs
- Greasing and preventative maintenance
- General engineering and workshop tasks
- Welding and fabrication work as required
- Troubleshooting machinery issues to minimise downtime
- Our machines are mostly European and highly specialised, so attention to detail and a methodical approach are essential.
- We’re looking for someone practical, reliable, and self-motivated, with:
- A general engineering or mechanical maintenance background
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Welding experience (preferred)
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership of maintenance
- A strong focus on reliability, safety, and machine performance
- 30–40 hours per week (open to discussion)
- Monday to Friday
- No shift work
