We are currently seeking reliable and full-time Cooks to join our team. The starting pay offered is $25-$30 hourly and will be fixed according to the skills and experience for at least 30 to 50 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per the above pay rate. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including:

Cooking and Preparation:

Prepare and cook a range of authentic Chinese dishes, mainly including lamb soup, various Chinese stir-fries, and Chinese-style cold dishes, ensuring consistent quality and compliance with established recipes and kitchen standards.

Menu Development and Innovation: Contribute ideas for new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques to enhance the menu.

Assist in refining existing dishes.

Training and Mentoring: Learn and master cooking techniques and presentation under the guidance of senior chefs.

Assist general kitchen staff in developing their skills and improving workflow efficiency.

Quality Control: Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure every dish meets customer expectations.

Ensure consistency in taste and adherence to portion sizes and established recipes.

Customer Service:

Address customer inquiries and special requests with professionalism, including dietary preferences and special orders. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Food Safety and Sanitation:

Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by upholding food safety and sanitation standards. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Job pre-requisites:

  • Must be available to work on a roster between 11.00 and 21.30. Flexibility to work holidays as needed.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in the commercial kitchen is a must.
  • Proved knowledge of cooking Chinese cuisine, such as relevant work experience, on-the- job training, or occupational credentials.
  • Must possess a keen eye for detail and a hard-working attitude.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must maintain personal cleanliness to ensure high standards of hygiene.
  • The successful candidate must pass a police check and drug test.
