About the RoleAs a Charge Nurse Manager, you will oversee the delivery of planned care at Thames Hospital. This encompasses Outpatient Clinics which includes our Infusions Unit; our Day Surgery Unit; Operating Theatres; and our Sterile Services Unit.

You will lead a dedicated team of nurses and technicians to manage both the operational and people functions of these units, to ensure an exceptional standard of safety & clinical care is delivered to our patients.

  • time role. You will report directly to the Nurse Manager of Thames

About the Team/ServiceOur team currently has a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Endoscopy, a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for both Outpatients and the Infusions Unit, supported by 19.8 FTE of RNs and 2.2 FTE of HCA.
There is also a small team of 2.5 FTE Technicians in our Sterile Services Unit.

About ThamesThames Hospital is a modern 50-bed secondary care facility offering a comprehensive range of services, including an emergency department, inpatient care, day surgery, an infusion unit, rehabilitation services, birthing unit and low-acuity mental health care.

Our hospital boasts 24-hour laboratory and radiology services, including advanced CT imaging.
As an accredited training hub, we support 5th and 6th-year medical students from Auckland University, PGY2 House Officers, and registrars in Rural Hospital Medicine and General and Acute Care Medicine.

  • Come and join us at Thames Hospital About youAs a Charge Nurse Manager you will be Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand APC and a strong current surgical experience, including in paediatrics (preferred) and / or experience within the outpatients setting.

Youre an experienced and effective leader who has professional maturity, adaptability and a positive attitude.

You have a demonstrated ability to establish rapport and you build effective relationships with all stakeholders.A leader of peopleAn ability lead change and service improvementAn advocate for equity of service deliveryExcellent communications skill with the ability to have hard conversationsGood computer skills and ability to learnStrong knowledge and understanding of Māori culture, values, and community.
